National Poetry Day – Poem by Graham Higgon

To commemorate National Poetry Day, we bring a heartfelt poem to you from one of our care home resident’s Graham Higgon, 90, to his daughter Delyth. With the help of our dedicated care team at Mill View, Pentre, we were delighted to make it possible for Graham to attend Delyth’s wedding recently.
Our wonderful team at Mill View care home, including Donna Thomas and Nicola Chilcott got together helped to make this special day possible for Graham and even helped Graham write a heartfelt poem to congratulate the bride to be.
GRAHAM’S POEM
Today is a day I will always remember,
I have such happiness inside,
To cherish the beautiful moments
My daughter became the
Beautiful Bride
~
I didn’t think I would be able to
Make it but then I was obliged
My Friends got together and got me
To your side
~
I sit here today with a smile
Upon my face
To be so proud of who you’ve
Become, I’m absolutely amazed
~
I send my love to you both
On your very special day
Who would have thought I’d get here
On such a lovely day
~
A lifetime full of memories
For you bot to make, just like
The memories we used to make.
~
I wish you both happiness
Love always
Dad
