The SilverCrest Care team are excited about attending the prestigious Wales Care Awards 2017. We wish our two finalists all the best at the ceremony on 17th November. They are Tracey Frowen who has been shortlisted for the Nurse of the Year and Owen Olds as finalist in the Community Living Care Practitioner category.
Tracey Frowen, who has recently been appointed as the Home Manager at The Hollies Care Home in Pontypridd has had over 20 years experience as a nurse.
Speaking about being a finalist Tracey said “The nomination as Nurse of the Year is touching and it is good to know my team think highly of me but really I do nothing more than a good nurse would do. Always I would want to know my loved one was receiving the best of care.”
Owen Old started his career as a hairdresser but knowing he always wanted to be a nurse and swiftly moved over to the care industry working at Mill View Care Home in Ystrad Pentre. Owen displayed a natural flare as a carer and was soon promoted as a senior carer.
In nominating him, a senior manager says Owen regularly goes above and beyond what is expected of him and describes him as “the perfect fit for the care home environment”.
Bikram Choudhary, Director of SilverCrest Group said “We are immensely proud of all who were shortlisted this year and looking forward to cheering on our two finalists at the awards show. We have so much talent in all our five homes with an incredibly dedicated team and it’s important to recognise and celebrate their hard work.
We ask you all to join us in congratulating Tracey and Owen on being finalists and of course best wishes on the night.”
