Meet Mandy, our talented resident at Cwrt Enfys, who has kindly donated a wonderful wooden model of the Titanic to the home.
Mandy, aged 59, spent three years carefully building the impressive model ship, which measures 4 foot 7inches in length. With a passion for creativity and a love of a challenge, Mandy decided to take on this remarkable project. When asked what inspired her to build the Titanic, she simply said, “I saw it advertised and thought, why not?”
Working alongside her assistant, Mandy meticulously pieced together the ship. The model is primarily made of wood but also includes a few mechanical elements that even generate steam which is exciting.
The Titanic model now takes pride of place i n the foyer of Cwrt Enfys Care Home in Ystradgynlais. It has quickly become a focal point, attracting admiration from fellow residents, their families, staff, and visitors. It’s a real conversation starter, with many enjoying learning about the history of the Titanic and its construction in Belfast, Ireland.
We asked Mandy what her next project was going to be and she is excited to be constructing a garden feature next… the details will remain a secret until it’s time to unveil!
Thank you to Mandy for your kindness and we can’t wait to see what is next. You will all have to watch this space to see what Mandy will surprise us with next!
